Thomas “Tommy” Martin, age 75 of Foxworth, MS passed away Monday, February 24, 2020 at Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg, MS. A native of Marion County, Tommy was a veteran of the MS Army National Guard, a truck driver with various companies including Wal-Mart, where he retired, and a member of North Columbia Baptist Church.
Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his parents, Carvin Martin and Berteel Herrington Martin. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Donna Martin of Foxworth; his sister, Cheryl Newcomer of Foxworth; father-in-law, Allen Jones, and mother-in-law, Doris Jones of Laurel, MS; a brother-in-law, Dwight Jones of Laurel; nieces, Renee Mathias of D’Iberville, MS, and Amber Barnett and her husband, Heath of Laurel; nephews, Joe Newcomer and his wife, Victoria, of Columbia, MS, and Lt. Col. Adam Jones and his wife, Jennifer of Fayetteville, NC; and a host of other extended family members, and friends.
A time of visitation will be held from 5:00pm until 8:00pm on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Colonial Funeral Home in Columbia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, February 28, 2020 at the funeral home chapel with Reverend Tommy Stogner presiding. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
