Susan Elizabeth Bell Copeland, of Oak Grove, Mississippi, passed from this life into God’s presence on Wednesday, January 31, 2024. She was born in McCook, Nebraska to Stuart Earl Bell, Sr. and Connie Tomlin Bell and has lived in Oak Grove since 1990. Susan was a graduate of West Marion High School and graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Technology. She pursued alternative certifications in education and taught chemistry in public school for the past twenty years. She enjoyed spending her time gardening and loved taking care of all stray animals that came her way. Susan will be remembered for her devotion to her family and to her students.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Connie Tomlin Bell; and a brother, Stanley Bell. Susan is survived by a daughter, Suzanne Michelle Copeland; a son, Sean Copeland and his wife, Taylor; her father, Stuart Earl Bell, Sr.; and two brothers, Stuart Earl Bell, Jr. and his wife, Sandra and Scott Bell.
The funeral service, officiated by Doctor Ronnie Morgan, will be at Kokomo Chapel Methodist Church on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at 11:00am. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00am until service time. Burial will follow in Kokomo Community Cemetery.
