Scott Pittman, age 75, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2023 at his residence in Foxworth, MS. He graduated West Marion High School where he excelled in track and attended Pearl River Jr. College on a football scholarship. Mr. Pittman was a member of Hurricane Creek Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge #60 in Columbia, MS and Wahabi Shriners Temple in Jackson, MS, and worked as a production foreman with Chevron where he retired after 29 years of employment. Scott loved music and enjoyed performing as the bass guitarist of the “Yeller Dawg Band”.
Mr. Pittman was preceded in death by his son, Brad Pittman; parents, Enoch Pittman and Elma Pittman; and sister, Lena McKenzie. His memory will be forever cherished by his wife of 55 years, Diane Pittman of Foxworth; his daughter, Tiffany Pittman of Hattiesburg, MS; and a host of extended family and friends.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Colonial Funeral Home in Columbia. The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at the funeral home where friends may visit one hour prior to service time. Reverend Zach Smith will officiate and burial will follow at Hurricane Creek Cemetery assisted by Bo Garner, Grant Grisham, Garath Fortenberry, Jacob Fortenberry, Todd Dixon, Danny Ryals, and Rod McKenzie as pallbearers.
