Ronald Delton “Ronnie” Thornhill, 70, of Columbia, MS, departed this life on February 20, 2024, after a long battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Delton William “Billy” Thornhill, and Ruby Lee Thornhill, both of Columbia; and his brother, Perry Dean Thornhill, of Atlanta, Georgia. He is survived by his sister, Kimberley Thornhill Caston (Paul), of Columbia; two nephews, Evan Caston, and Zachary Caston, both of Oxford, MS; and many cousins, grand-nephews and nieces. Ronnie lived his entire life in Columbia and was a member of Woodlawn Pentecostal Church. He was retired from a 25-year career at the Columbia, MS Wal-Mart. He enjoyed painting, drawing, hunting, golf, visiting his former co-workers at Walmart, and taking care of homeless animals. He will be dearly missed by his family, and a multitude of friends.
Visitation will be held from 11:30 AM until 12:30 PM on Friday, February 23, 2024 at Colonial Funeral Home in Columbia with a graveside service following at 1:00 PM at Woodlawn Cemetery. Reverend Jerron Carney will officiate and carrying Ronnie to his place of rest will include Paul Caston, Evan Caston, Zach Caston, Preston Vaughn, Paul White, and Steve Crosby.
