Rick Mills, age 72 of Purvis, MS died Sunday, May 17, 2020 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. A native of Dallas, TX Rick was a veteran of the US Air Force serving during the Vietnam War. He worked as a commercial truck driver 20 years for various companies including Campbell Trucking in Dallas and later worked in restaurant management and with Anaheim Auto Auction. He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church in Purvis.
Mr. Mills was preceded in death by his daughter, Tabitha Lee; and parents, John R. Mills, Sr. and Lettel Bost Mills; and step-son, Von Tremper. Survivors include his wife, Bunnell Mills of Purvis; a daughter, Paula Clay of Ft. Worth, TX; a son, Ricky Mills of Conroe, TX; sister, Sheril Miller of Ft. Worth; four grandchildren, Sydney Clay, Jacy Pendarvis, Emily Deaton, and Jonathon Tremper; three great-grandchildren, Kaden Pendarvis, Timothy Deaton, and Kace Deaton; a nephew, Daniel McNeese; and brother-in-law, Wayne Miller of Purvis.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at Corinth Baptist Church with Reverend Brad Ford presiding. Visitation will be from 5:00pm until 9:00pm on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at the church. Interment will be in Hurricane Creek Cemetery assisted by Wayne Miller, Daniel McNeese, Jonathon Tremper, B.L. Johnson, Chris Longino, and Jason Yawn as pallbearers.
