Rebecka A. "Becky" Stringer Rogers, of the Improve Community in Mississippi, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at the age of 59. She was born in Columbia, Mississippi to Robert A. and Wilhelmine "Lore" Stringer. Becky was a graduate of Columbia High School after moving to Columbia in 1980 from Leesville, Louisiana. She worked in the pipeline construction industry for 16 years and the last two years was employed with Focus Pipeline. Becky was an avid New Orleans Saints fan and season ticket holder. Her favorite place to be was the Grand Teton's National Park where she had the privilege of working for four seasons. Becky had a great sense of humor, was funny, witty, and was the life of the party at any gathering. She was giving, caring, loved people, and especially loved dogs. Becky will be remembered as someone who was hardworking, dependable, and would help anyone in need.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert A. "Bobby" Stringer; and a nephew Jason Stephens. Becky is survived by her husband, James G. "Jimmy" Rogers; a step-son, Michael (Ann) Rogers; her mother, Wilhelmine "Lore" Stringer; a sister, Gloria Butler; a brother, Creg (Georgia) Stringer; a niece, Jennifer Stringer; and a nephew, Aaron Stringer, all of Columbia. She is also survived by "grandchildren," Jake and Noah Faglie of Heartshorn, Oklahoma and Asher Williams of Durant, Oklahoma.
There will be a visitation for Becky at Colonial Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. The funeral service, officiated by Reverend Reed Houston and Reverend Mark McArthur, will be in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at 10:00am and friends may visit with the family from 9:00am until service time. Burial will follow in the Rogers-Stringer Family Cemetery assisted by Aaron Stringer, Michael Rogers, Stevie Rogers, Ratliff Fortenberry, Bradley Stringer, and Trey Faglie serving as pallbearers.
