Mary Jo Coker Williamson, of Columbia, Mississippi, passed away in D’Iberville, Mississippi on Sunday, November 8, 2020, at the age of 85. She was born in Columbia where she remained a lifelong resident until 2014 when she moved to be near her daughter and grandchildren in Gulfport. Mary Jo was a devout Christian and served her Lord and community through her active membership in First Baptist Church of Columbia where she sang in the choir, played piano for children’s choirs, and worked as a church secretary. She was a loving mother and grandmother who was devoted to her family. Mary Jo had a kind, gentle spirit and will be remembered for her beautiful smile. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Williamson; her mother, Hazel Coker; and her father and step-mother, J.O. (Elise) Coker. Mary Jo is survived by a daughter, Jane Mann; a brother, George (Mary) Coker; two grandchildren, Larissa Brewer and Porter (Jessika) Mann; a great-granddaughter, Gabby Guerra; a sister-in-law, Sue Griffith; numerous nieces and nephews and many faithful friends. The funeral service will be at 11:00am on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 in the chapel of Colonial Funeral Home in Columbia. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home from 10:00am until service time. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
