Marty Kendrick, of Foxworth, Mississippi, passed from this life to rest in the arms of his Savior on Monday, January 4, 2021. He was a lifelong resident of Marion County and worked for many years as a boat captain. Marty was a “Jack of all trades” and could build and repair anything. He would wake up early every morning for the pleasure of watching the sun come up and did not want to waste his day. He was a craftsman who enjoyed woodworking, he loved to cook, and loved listening to Southern Gospel Music. Marty was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who was devoted to his family and will be remembered as an excellent teacher and mentor. He was a faithful man of God and Marty served his Lord and community through his membership with the church that he loved, Improve Baptist Church. With his servant’s heart, he devoted many hours of his time serving on numerous church committees, assisting on mission trips, and many community events like Thanksgiving in the Park. He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd M. Kendrick, Sr. and an uncle who was like a brother, Danny Kendrick. Marty is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Tamilyn Kendrick; three daughters, Briana Waller, Sara Jackson, and Shana Lombardo; four sons, Shawn (Tiffany) Smith, Jacob Waller, Brandon Jackson, and Justin Lombardo; his mother, Sharon Kendrick; a sister, Sheryl (Ricky) Mills; a brother, Jeffrey (Tammy) Kendrick; eleven grandchildren, Logan James, Daniel Waller, Matthew Jackson, Caleb Jackson, Sadie Jackson, Lexi Lombardo, Everly Lombardo, Austin Boettner, Jackson Boettner, Landon Smith, and Raelyn Smith. The funeral service for Marty will be at 11:00am on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Improve Baptist Church, officiated by Reverend Darel Daniels and Reverend Johnathan McLemore. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00am until service time. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
