Lou Alice Holmes

Lou Alice Holmes, of Kokomo, Mississippi, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at the age of 89. She was born in Marion County and has remained a lifelong resident where she was a member of the Columbia Seventh Day Adventist Church. Lou Alice enjoyed spending her time working word puzzles, coloring pictures, quilting and crocheting; but, loved gardening, canning, and cooking Sunday dinner for her family. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ran and Bessie Hollis; and a brother, Fred Hollis. Lou Alice is survived by her husband of 65 years, Manson "June" Holmes, Jr; a son, Burl Holmes; three sisters, Janice Rhoden, Faye Tinsley, and Helen Kimbro; a brother, Ran Hollis, Jr (Vivian); five grandchildren, Jamie Holmes (Pamela), Melissa Crosby (Wayne), Jeremy Holmes (Samantha), Jessica Holmes (Joseph), and James Pearce (Nita); thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service for Lou Alice will be at the graveside in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at 10:00am.
