Julius Alton “Bo” Bowman, age 95 of Pascagoula, MS, died Monday, February 10, 2020 at his residence. He was a native of Livingston, LA and former resident of Columbia, MS. Mr. Bowman was a veteran of the Army Air Corp and served during WWII with tours in England, France, and Germany. He also served his community as a Shriner, attended First Baptist Church of Pascagoula, and retired from Exxon Mobil after 36 years of employment.
Mr. Bowman was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Bowman and Mary Iona Bowman; and a nephew, Roy V. Russell. He is survived by his wife, Dorris Stringer Bowman of Pascagoula; two daughters, Sylvia Kendrick of Cocoa Beach, FL, and Pam Wigel of Kingsport, TN; a sister, Juanita Russell Miller of Franklinton, LA; nieces, Fairba Russell Cade and husband, Raymond of Osyka, MS, Nancy Russell Forbes and husband, Robert of Roseland, LA, and Julie Kathy Russell of Osyka, MS; a nephew, Lloyd Bowman Russell of Roseland, LA; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A funeral service for Mr. Bowman will be held at 12:00pm on Friday, February 14, 2020 at Colonial Funeral Home in Columbia where friends may visit with family from 11:00am until service time. Reverend Ray Wuerzer will preside over services and interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Pine Grove, LA.
