John E. Carroll

John E. Carroll, of Columbia, Mississippi, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at the age of 63. He was born in Columbia to Nona Bowles Carroll and William “Bill” Carroll, Jr. where he has remained a lifelong resident. John worked in his family’s business, Sav-On-Drugs, as a pharmacy technician and business manager for over forty years. He had many hobbies and interests. Most notably was his love for clocks of all kinds and the hundreds that he collected over time. John also enjoyed putting jigsaw puzzles together and many of his framed works of art are displayed around the store and his home. He had a very giving nature and would help anyone who had a need. John will be remembered for his gregarious personality, his great sense of humor, and that big smile.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Carroll, Jr. and a sister, Rhonda Holmes. John is survived by his mother, Nona Carroll; two sisters, Deborah (Donnie) McDaniel and Ann (Tim) Lewis; a brother, Jamie (Art Cook) Carroll; and several nieces and nephews.

John will be laid to rest in Odom Cemetery in Richton, Mississippi with a private graveside service.
