

Mrs. Jacqueline Kelly Hodges DeOrnellas of Foxworth, MS, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at her daughter’s residence where she was receiving hospice care after a prolonged illness. She was 69 years old at the time of her passing. She was born to her parents, Jasper and Lois Hodges on September 7, 1955, at Walthall General Hospital in Tylertown. She weighed a whopping 2lbs.at birth, and though she was tiny, she was mighty. Her strength and determination were something to be admired. She worked as a tax preparation specialist and as a bookkeeper in her latter years. She was retired at the time of her passing. She was a lifelong resident of Marion County, and In her spare time, she enjoyed doing arts and crafts with her daughter and granddaughter as well as vacationing to the beach and Disney World.
She was married to the love of her life, David L. DeOrnellas on March 6, 1976, and 3 years later, they welcomed a baby girl, Kelly. While they doted on Kelly, her spot would be taken later by their granddaughter, Olivia. She was truly a miracle to them both and they enjoyed spoiling her rotten. You never had to question whether she loved her family, because she did so very fiercely.
Mrs. DeOrnellas was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, David L. DeOrnellas; her father, Jasper Hodges; mother, Lois Turnage Hodges; one brother, William (Billy) D. Thomas.
Her memory will be forever cherished by her loving daughter, Kelly Corinne DeOrnellas Lindley (Will Stovall); precious granddaughter, Olivia Corinne Lindley; a step-grandson, Trenton Stovall; one brother, James (Jimmy) R. Thomas (Nancy); brothers-in-law, Leo A. DeOrnellas (Mimi), Stephen P. DeOrnellas (Betty); sisters-in-law, Dorothy Thomas, Mary Lee Malek, Anna Kathryn Davis., a host of nieces and nephews as well as numerous extended family and friends.
The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life at a later date where friends and family will be invited to attend.
