Hollis M. Turnage, Sr., of Columbia, Mississippi, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at the age of 76. He was born in Columbia where he has remained a lifelong resident. Hollis served his country in the Coast Guard and the Army, retiring as a Sergeant First Class. He served his community and his Lord through his membership at Calvary Baptist Church where he was a Deacon. He enjoyed drawing and painting art.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Preston “Doss” and Ruth Turnage. Hollis is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sandra Turnage; two daughters, Marie Turnage and Casandra Robertson (John Adam); a son, Hollis M. Turnage, II (Eowyn Cenek); and three grandchildren, Jonathan Austin Robertson, Aimen Lee Robertson, and Myia Abbigale Robertson.
There will be a funeral service for Hollis, officiated by Reverend Millard Moak, at Calvary Baptist Church on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 2:00pm. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00pm until service time.
