Helen Jones, of the Shiloh Community, went to be with her Lord on Monday, January 20, 2020 at the age of 88. Miss Helen, as she was known to many, was a lifelong resident of Marion County, Mississippi and an active member of Shiloh Baptist Church. She wrote community news articles with the Columbian Progress for many years. Miss Helen enjoyed tending to her flower beds and watching the hummingbirds that she fed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Olen C. “Bill” Jones; a son, Billy Jones, Jr; a grandson, Justin Stringer; a sister, Eloise Sperry; and two brothers, James Otho Forbes and Ellzy Forbes. Miss Helen is survived by a daughter, Linda Hines; five sons, Ronald O. Jones, Richard “Rick” Jones and wife, Dot, Randy Jones and wife, Regena, James “Rusty” Jones and wife Sabrina, and Rod Jones and wife Dana; 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be at 10:30am on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Shiloh Baptist Church officiated by Reverend Dudley Williamson and Reverend Glenn Nace. Friends may visit with the family at the church from 9:00am until service time. Burial will follow in the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery assisted by Chris Jones, Josh Jones, Jerry Brown, Matthew Brown, Eric Jones, and Jonathan Smith serving as pallbearers.
