Earl Bryant, of Columbia, Mississippi, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 31, 2022 at the age of 75. He was born in Columbia to Oscar and Virginia Bryant where he has remained a lifelong resident. Earl enjoyed nature and loved to fish and hunt. He spent many hours watching animals play and especially enjoyed watching his Humming Birds. Earl was an excellent mechanic and enjoyed working on older vehicles. He was very proud of being a reserve deputy with the Marion County Sheriff Department. Earl will be remembered for his great sense of humor and the antics with his brother, Charles Bryant. Until Charles’ death in 2016, the two were inseparable and did everything together. The family is taking great comfort in knowing that the two have been reunited.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents who raised him, Sedgie and Ada Watts; his brother, Charles Bryant; and a special nephew, Mikey Bryant. Earl is survived by three special nieces, Becky (Ronald) Smith, Michell (Brent) Breeland, Beverly (Rick) Lince; a special nephew, Mitchell (Gayla) Bryant; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
The funeral service, officiated by Reverend Neal Breeland, will be in the chapel of Colonial Funeral Home at 2:30pm on Friday, February 4, 2022. Friends may visit with the family from 1:30pm until service time. Burial will follow in the Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery assisted by Randy Dyess, Will Sims, Reggie Pierce, John Webster, Keith Riley, and Luke Cook serving as pallbearers.
