Dorothy Vas

Dorothy Vas, of Kokomo, Mississippi, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at the age of 78. She was born in Phillipsburg, New Jersey where she lived until moving to Mississippi ten years ago. Dorothy worked as a nurse assistant and enjoyed playing cards and playing bingo. She loved being with her family and will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Llewellyn and Dorothy Plattenburg; a sister, Anna Plattenburg; a brother, Samuel Plattenburg; a daughter, Donna Scudder; a son, Thomas Meshach; and husbands, Roscoe Meshach, Tom Pursell, and Thomas Vas. Dorothy is survived by five daughters, Marion Behsman, Dorothy Harris, Dawn Gonzalez, Brandy Cameron, and Cathy Jo Vas; two sons, Roger Meshach (Amy) and John Pursell; 22 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

There will be a funeral service for Dorothy at Colonial Funeral Home on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at 11:00am. Doctor Daniel Smith will officiate the service and friends may visit with the family from 10:00am until service time. She will be taken back home to New Jersey for burial.
