Diane Pittman, age 73, unexpectedly passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at Marion General Hospital in Columbia, MS. She was a lifelong resident of Marion County and worked with Trustmark Bank for many years. Diane was a graduate of West Marion High School and was voted Most Beautiful in her senior year. Diane was a kind and sweet lady with a wonderful sense of humor. She was a great cook and loved her family and her many friends. Diane was a member of Hurricane Creek Baptist Church and was a woman of faith who devoted much of her time to her church, her family, and community.
Mrs. Pittman was preceded in death by her husband, Scott Pittman; her son, Brad Pittman; father, J.L. Dunaway; and brother, John Kenneth Dunaway. Her memory will be forever cherished by her daughter, Tiffany Pittman of Hattiesburg, MS; her mother, Helen Dunaway; and sisters, Liz Garner (Bo), and Debbie Smith (L.D.), both of Foxworth, MS.
A visitation for Diane will be held Wednesday, December 27, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Hurricane Creek Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at the church on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at 1:00 PM. Reverend Curtis Roland will officiate and burial will follow at Hurricane Creek Cemetery assisted by Garath Fortenberry, Grant Grisham, Todd Dixon, Nate Stafford, Derrick Jerkins, and Dewayne Ervin as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers, Bo Garner and John Garner.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are preferred to Baptist Medical and Dental Mission International, www.bmdmi.org; Hopeful Hearts Animal Rescue (Foxworth) www.hopefulheartsanimalrescue.org; or Hurricane Creek Baptist Church Missions –Guatemala.
