Clifford Ray Ward, of Foxworth, Mississippi, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at the age of 73. He was born in Columbia to Clarence and Stella Ward and has remained a lifelong resident of Marion County. Clifford worked his entire career as a driller in the oil and gas industry. Described as “one of a kind,” he was a strong, hardworking man who was devoted to his family. Clifford was a good man who was very generous and always willing to help someone in need. He was quick witted, he always spoke his mind and will be remembered for his gift of gab.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Willford Ward; three sisters, Tommie Jean Holmes, Faye Ward, and Cathy Ward; and his beloved wife, Shirley Ward. Clifford is survived by three daughters, Elizabeth (Timothy) King, Ginger Hayward, and Sabrina Ward; one granddaughter, Emily King; three sisters-in-law, Kay Terrell, Pearlene Stringer, and Janice Lynn; a brother-in-law, Randy Terrell; and numerous nieces and nephew.
There will be a visitation for Clifford at Colonial Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm. The funeral service, officiated by Reverend Jerry Terrell, will be at the graveside in Baxter-Pittman Cemetery on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at 10:00am with burial to follow.
