Billy W. Brumfield

Billy W. Brumfield, age 90 of Foxworth, MS passed away Sunday, June 9, 2024 at Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg, MS. He retired after 42 years of employment in the oil drilling industry and was a longtime member of Foxworth First Baptist Church. He enjoyed various activities in retirement especially farming, watching westerns, and Sunday dinners with his family.

Mr. Brumfield was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Brumfield; his grandson, Heath Wesley; parents, Carey Brumfield and Essie Mae Lee Brumfield; sisters, Jo Ann Newcomb, and Dean Boyd; and brothers, Madison Brumfield, and Frank Brumfield. He is survived by his daughters, Nita Oglesbee (Richard), and Rita Wesley (Rusty); sons, Ferrel Brumfield (Debbie), and Darrel Brumfield (Vanya); a brother, Jerry Wayne Brumfield (Terry); 11 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Colonial Funeral Home in Columbia, MS. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at the funeral home where friends may visit one hour prior to services. Reverend Tyler Chavis, and Reverend Zach Smith will officiate and burial will follow at Foxworth Cemetery assisted by Jason Brumfield, Tyler Brumfield, Vol White, Carson Wesley, Hunter Oglesbee, and Derrick Brumfield as pallbearers and Dr. Daniel Smith offering committal scripture and prayer.
