Barbara Sue Forbes Ham, 73, of Columbia, MS passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at Merit Health Wesley in Hattiesburg, MS. Barbara Sue or Mrs. Barbara, as most knew her, was reared in the rural community of Hurricane Creek in Marion County and was a member of the West Marion Class of 1966. She worked in the office of the Chancery Clerk in Marion County for 35 years where she made many friends –always a “Hi”, and a smile for everyone she met. Barbara Sue loved to travel, shop, and eat, and spending time with her granddaughters. She attended Willow Pointe Church in Hattiesburg, and grew fond of football and enjoyed watching the New Orleans Saints on Sunday afternoons with her sister and brother-in-law. Barbara was larger than life and loved by so many. She will be greatly missed.
Barbara Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Ham; son, Mitchael Boyd; and parents, Lendal Forbes and Betty Lou Wagley Forbes. Left to cherish her memory is her sister, Mary Jean Forbes McKenzie, granddaughters, Skylar Boyd, and Addison Boyd; a niece, Natalie McKenzie Turnage; a nephew, Grant McKenzie; and a very special friend, Charlie Miller.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Colonial Funeral Home in Columbia where family will receive friends for visitation from 1:00 PM until service time. Dr. Tim Glaze will officiate and burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery assisted by Brent Sullivan, Shae Lowery, Eli Lowery, Buddy Bracey, Donnie Williamson, and Hugh Gene Smith as pallbearers.
