Visitation will be on Sunday, October 28, 2018 from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm at Woodcrest Chapel, 2201 W Nifong Blvd, Columbia, MO. Funeral service will follow at 5:00 pm at the church with Rev. Doug Phillips officiating. Private graveside services will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery in Columbia, MO.
Stuart was born on November 3, 1953 in Appleton City, MO the son of David and Doris (Simmons) Scroggs who preceded him in death. He was married on April 2, 1983 at Calvary Baptist Church in Columbia, MO to Catherine Cox.
Stuart graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the University of Kansas and served as a registered architect in Columbia, MO for over 35 years. In 2006, he established Scroggs Architecture. Stuart enjoyed spending time with his family, playing golf, and being a grandpa “Baba” to Brandon and Arden Buckallew, He was an active community member in Columbia Metro Rotary, Voluntary Action Center, Salvation Army, and Cosmopolitan Club.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Cathy Scroggs of the home; two daughters, Sarah Scroggs Buckallew (Adam) of Columbia, MO and Julia Claire Scroggs of Columbia, MO; two grandchildren, Brandon Arthur Buckallew and Arden Catherine Buckallew and three cousins, John Wheeler, Robert Wheeler and Schuyler Wheeler.
