Ruth Lois Martin

Ruth was born March 17, 1931 in Boone County, MO to Fred and Minnie Sweeten Teel; she was a graduate of Fulton High School. On January 10, 1950, she married Billy Joe Martin. They were active, long-time members of Bethel Baptist Church. She volunteered with 4-H in Boone County and was an active volunteer for many other programs. For 32 years, she worked for the University of Missouri, before retiring in 1995. She also enjoyed working for New Haven School in Columbia. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed having her family together for Sunday dinners where she made the best fried chicken.

She is survived by her children, Mike (Debbie) Martin of Millersburg, Brenda (Tim) Ryan of Marshall, and Rocky (Denna) Martin of Moberly; 8 grandchildren, Chad and Travis Martin, Matthew and Daniel Paulsell, Karissa and Kaysee Martin, and Cody and Dakota Martin; 13 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Martin; many nieces and nephews and a loving extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Martin; a son, William Kent Martin; brothers, Larry and Owen Teel; and sisters, Ruby Phillips and Ellen Kennett.
