Milton C. Dodge, 73 of Columbia, MO, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2016, with his wife and stepdaughter by his side. Milt was born August 28, 1942, in Pontiac, Michigan, the son of Arthur and Ethel Dodge. He grew up in Lake Angelus and graduated in the first graduating class from Pontiac Northern in 1960. He lived and worked most of his life in the Pontiac and Detroit area as an automotive designer, starting his career at Hamill Manufacturing. He later worked for Firestone, TRW and GM. He married his first wife, Sybil in 1966 and together they had 2 children. In 1984 he married Molly Johnson. They made their home in Clawson, MI for 22 years before moving to Columbia, MO in 2007.
Milt enjoyed hunting, camping, gardening and photography as well as other outdoor activities. He was a skilled craftsman and enjoyed woodworking.
Milt is survived by his devoted wife of 32 years, Molly, his daughter Robin (Dodge) Surhigh, son Reed, their mother Sybil, grandchildren Katy, Alex and Brandon Surhigh, stepdaughter Carie Copeland (Dan) and their sons Nic and Nathan, stepson Brian Johnson (Myra), his brother Bill (Jan) and nephew Will (Jennie) and niece, Carrie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Ethel Dodge of Lake Angelus and Petoskey, MI.
A memorial service was held on Feb 6, 2016 at 3 pm in Columbia, MO.
