Michael Joe Brown

Michael J. Brown, 64, of Columbia passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2023 in Columbia. Friends may gather at Memorial Funeral Home 1217 Business Loop 70 West Columbia, on Saturday, September 9th from 1-2pm. A memorial service will begin at 2pm followed by burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Michael was born June 24, 1959 to Billy and Bobbie Jo Brown in Mexico, MO. He worked many years as a Long-Haul Trucker. He was a reserved and caring man, who watched over his family. He battled for several years with diabetes, and was able to keep driving after he lost his legs due to diabetes. Although he kept mostly to himself, he still enjoyed sharing stories with friends at Oak Towers.

He is survived by a sister, Cynthia Bishop; and a brother, Anthony Prince; nieces, Crystal Skinner and Brianna Bishop; nephew, Sgt. Derrick Bishop; a great-nephew, Darrius Glenn; step-mother, Marcella Prince; aunts, Charlene Mayberry and Geraldine Banks; uncles, Richard Spence and John Spence, Jr.; Keith Banks and Idenia Thornton, a host of cousins, and his long-time girlfriend, Sheila Allen. He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
