Mindy was born in Columbia, on July 5, 1060, the daughter of James Willis Baskett and Marjorie Bernice (Tomlin) Baskett. She attended Hickman High School.
Mindy was employed by the Holiday Inn Executive Center and later earned her degree as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant, working in Boone County and Dalton, GA. She enjoyed all types of crafts as well as cooking. She was proud of her large collection of rosters and holiday snowmen. She loved the times she spent with her nieces and nephews.
Mindy is survived by her husband, Defino Garcia of Dalton, GA; one sister: Cindy (Jack) Simmons of Chattanooga, TN; one brother: James Baskett, Jr, of Columbia; one brother in law: Jeff (Karen) Allcorn of Sedalia along with a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister: Wendy Allcorn.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Boone County Family Resources of Columbia, in care of the funeral home.
