Lindy was the first of five children born to Lindy M. and Frances J. Holley. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Valerie Holley; 2 daughters: Jennifer Mueske (Jason) of Columbia MO, and Sharon Doler (Dave) of Glasgow MO.; 5 granddaughters; 3 great-grandchildren; his sister and 2 younger brothers; and many nieces and nephews.
Many places were home to Lindy in his younger days, but central Missouri is where he established his roots and thrived for 45 years. He retired after 30 years at the University Hospital and was thoroughly enjoying his freedom years mastering the art of piddling around in the garage.
There was absolutely nothing on this earth more important to Lindy than his family, and he was always there to take a call and respond to the need no matter how large or small, be it nearby or far away. Service to family was his calling in life, and he fulfilled very well this calling.
His second earthly love was either talking about or riding his motorcycle. It is likely that everyone who ever visited with Lindy heard all about it at some time during the conversation. Lindy also enjoyed woodworking and took pride in giving a gift turned on his lathe or hammered together in the workshop.
The family will receive visitors at 10:30 am, followed by a service of remembrance at 11:30 on Saturday July 29, 2023 at Campus Lutheran Church, 304 S. College Ave. Columbia MO. A fellowship dinner will be held at the church immediately following the service. A private committal of ashes will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you plant a tree in Lindy’s memory.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.memorialfuneralhomeandcemetery.com for the Holley family.
