Kenneth “Joe” Wade, 78, of Columbia passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at his home. A Memorial Service with Full Military Honors will be conducted on Friday, November 24, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will take place at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Joe was born on November 11, 1945 in Columbia, Missouri the son of Robert Austin Wade and Amy Oleta (Stone) Wade. He graduated from David H Hickman High School and Columbia College. He served his country in Vietnam in the US Army. On August 8, 1969 he was united in marriage to Nancy Fisher who survives at their home.
Joe had a successful career with State Farm Insurance Company in agency training. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and just about anything outdoors. He was proud of his ten-acre grove of walnut and pecan trees. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.
Joe is survived by his wife, Nancy; their children: Patrick (Patricia) Wade of Wentzville; Krista (Matt) Blansett of Auxvasse; two grandchildren: Macyn & Ryan; his brothers: Dale (Betty) Wade; Russell (LaVerne) Wade; Dennis (Vickie) Wade; his sisters: Glenda Stahl; Florine (Bob) Jenkins; Barbara (Bill) Wehmeyer; Cindy Spires (Bobby) and a host of nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Vernon Wade and one sister: Fay Hopper.
