Memorial service will be held on August 26, at 1:00pm at Community United Methodist Church, 3301 W Broadway, Columbia, MO.
Julie was born on April 28, 1961 in Jefferson City, MO the daughter of Billy Burke and Wanda Mae (Marine) McGlasson. She was a special education teacher for many years in the Mid-Missouri area. She was an alumnus of Stephens College, and the University of Missouri, Columbia (Masters in Education). Julie was an integral element in the furthering of education for children with special needs in the state of Missouri. Her work had her traveling throughout the state to work with children in need.
Survivors include: her father, Billy McGlasson of Columbia, MO and many cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Wanda McGlasson in 1997.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Camp Hickory Hill, a residential camp for persons with diabetes. Located at 5951 W Hatton Chapel Rd, Columbia, MO 65202.
