Joan was born February 27, 1936 in Cushing, OK to parents Lewis and Geneva (Smith) Shideler. Joan graduated high school in Cushing and went on to obtain her associates degree from Stephens College and then attended the University of Hawaii. Joan loved golf and had the opportunity to play in many places while traveling with her husband of 62 years Ted Roberts. Joan won the club golf championship at Hunting Hills Country Club in Roanoke, Virginia. She also loved to travel, especially to Hilton Head Island. Joan loved to shop and had a special eye for gold decorations to furnish her home.
Joan was predeceased by her husband, her parents and her brothers Jim, Bob, and Billy Shideler.
Joan is survived by her daughters; Cindy Polfelt of Columbia, Ginger Bandre and her husband David of Wardsville, Grandchildren; Ted Polfelt and his wife Lindsay, Jessica Hosack and her husband Scott, and Connor Bandre, great-grandchildren; Natalie Paul, Taylor Polfelt and Ryland Polfet, and sister Betty Mae Jones of Tulsa, OK.
Joan’s services are under the Care of Memorial Funeral Home & Cemetery. A graveside service will be held at 3pm, Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Memorial Cemetery, 1217 Business Loop 70 W, Columbia, MO.
