Jimmie Lee Becker, 76, of Pilot Grove, MO passed away February 3, 2025, at his home. A graveside service, with military honors, will begin at 2pm, Friday, March 7, 2025, in Memorial Park Cemetery, 1217 Business Loop 70 West Columbia, MO. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
Jimmie was born, October 28, 1948, in Boonville, MO to William Otto & Alta Gertrude Ivy. In 1966, he graduated from Boonville High School. He was later drafted into the US Army where he served from 1970-1972; earning the National Defense Medal and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. He was stationed in Korea and served in the Battalion for Battery C. After his discharge, he worked as an over-the-road truck driver for Shelp & Shelp Dairy in Alma, MO and then for Potter Trucking out of Boonville. He drove a truck for over 20 years. In September 1994, he married Wanda in Denton, TX. He went to work for Wal-Mart in Columbia at the Biscayne Mall location. He worked for Wal-Mart for another 20 years before his retirement. After retirement, he enjoyed working with his hands tinkering on vehicles, wood working, working on his cabin and maintaining the home he and Wanda shared.
He is survived by his children, Jamie (James) Nevins of Pilot Grove, Travis (Carolyn) Becker of Holts Summit, Shannon (Niccol) Becker of Mexico; his wife of 30 years, Wanda Becker and her children, Marvin (Tiffanye)Tomlin and Melonie Tomlin of Phoenix, AZ; fourteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a brother, Carl Becker, many nieces and nephews and a loving extended family and two sons, Jimmie Jr and Johnnie Becker.. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dawn Nowack; sisters, Joyce Tremble & Rose Oser; a brother, Bill Becker, his parents as well as his beloved beagle, Wiley who passed November 2024.
