Jim W. Woodson, 74, of Phoenix, AZ, formerly of Columbia, MO passed away, December 26, 2016 in Phoenix Arizona from complications of Rheumatoid Arthritis. A memorial service will be held at 3:30pm, Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Memorial Funeral Home 1217 Business Loop 70 west Columbia, MO with visitation from 3-3:30pm.
Jim was born March 14, 1942 in Columbia, MO to Warren and Judy Glascock Woodson. He was a graduate of University High Lab School in 1960. He moved to Arizona in 1970 and was self-employed in HVAC. He enjoyed sports, especially basketball and loved to golf.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his two daughters from his first marriage: Lesley (Tom) Steinweg of Houston, TX and their children, Hannah Jane (Austin) Collazo, of Memphis, Tennessee; Emery and Claire Steinweg of Houston, Texas. Kim (Jeff) Mulkey of Dallas, TX, and their three children, Ryan, Abby, & Nate Mulkey of Dallas, Texas. Four sisters, Jonna (Roger) Barr and Mari Ann Bihr & husband John Horstman both of Columbia, Connie Jane (Dan) of Pomona, MO, and Sara Jean (Bob) Simon of Sedalia, MO. He also leaves behind several nieces and cousins.
In November of 1980, he married Helen Bruzzese in Arizona. He is survived by his wife, and her two children Gary Bruzzese, and Diane Mathus (Michael) Nagano; three grandchildren Josh, Mathus, Jeff Mathus and Kristin Mathus and eight great-grandchildren, all of Phoenix, Arizona. He will be greatly missed.
