James E. “Bud” Moulder, 88, of Columbia, Missouri entered into rest on October 24, 2014. Bud was born on August 29, 1926 to Cyrus and Lela Moulder in Roach, Missouri. He married Eldora Rhodes on December 19, 1954 in Camdenton, Missouri. He served in the US Marine Corps during WWII and the US Army Artillery during the Korean conflict. He graduated from the University of Missouri with a Master’s in Civil Engineering. He worked at R.W. Booker in St. Louis for 28 years, becoming the CEO and Chairman of the Board. He is accredited for a large number of projects across Missouri, the nation, and the world. Bud was an active member of Rotary, served on the club’s board of director, and was President of the board of Skyway Farms. Bud was National Vice President of American Consulting Engineers Counsel and President of American Consulting Engineers of Missouri. He was also President of the Missouri Society of Professional Engineers. He was an active member in the Engineers Club of St Louis and a member of the Burns Club of St Louis. Bud was an active alumnus at the University of Missouri, President of the MU Engineering Alumni Association, and founding member of the St Louis Engineering Alumni. He served as Chairman of the MU Alumni Advising Counsel. In 1982, he was awarded the Distinguished Service Award by the MU Alumni Association. Mr. Moulder also served on the Board of Governors of Northeast MO State University at Kirksville, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Azalee Beard. He is survived by his wife, Eldora “Dody”; his sons: Robin E. and Janet Moulder and Bradley J. and Tara Moulder; his brother, Jimmy Moulder; grandchildren: Lucas, Melanie, Dylan, Tanner, and Alexis; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Memorial service will be on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Memorial Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to MU College of Engineering.
