Jack Hyde, 82, of Columbia, MO passed away October 6, 2018 in Columbia, MO. Memorial Mass will be 11:30am, Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, with inurnment to follow in Columbia Cemetery. Friends may gather at the church on Thursday from 10-11:30am.
Jack was born December 18, 1935 in Holcomb, MO to Marion Ansel and Stella Howard Hyde. He served in Korea on a Destroyer with the US Navy from 1954-1957. He worked for 40 years with Union Electric / Ameren before retiring. On February 18, 1971 in St. Charles, MO, he married Mary Ann Baclet. They loved traveling together and going on cruises. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1529 for 23 years, he also enjoyed the outdoors, was an avid angler and quail hunter.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Hyde of Columbia; children, Tamyra Diers of Lake Geneva, WI, Jack R. Hyde, II (Mary Ann) of Laguna Niguel CA, and Christopher Hyde of Henderson, NV; grandchildren, Meghan, Lauren, Kristen, and Katherine Hyde, Allie, Sydnie, and Tanner Diers, Alyssa and Calvin Hyde, and Jack Reagan Baclet Hyde; great grandchildren, Henry, Milo, and JJ; brother, Phil Hyde of Arkansas; daughter-in-law, Peggy Hyde of St. Louis, and many nieces and nephews. His parents; son, Brent Hyde; five brothers, Ed, Jim, Howard, Bob, and Charles; and two sisters, Fern and Jan Perry preceded him in death.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Knights of Columbus Council 1529.
