Henry Kemp Jr.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Sugar Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 5400 E. Sugar Grove Rd, Columbia, MO. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the church. Graveside service will be at Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors.

Henry was born December 5, 1932 in Merigold, MS; the son of Henry Kemp, Sr. and Ollie (Anderson) Franklin. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean War. He retired from the University of Missouri in 1999.

Henry is proceeded in death by his parents Henry Kemp, Sr. and Ollie (Anderson) Franklin; loving daughter Beatrice Randle; four sisters: Rudell Brown, Jenny Fisher, Ladorothy Lusby and Carrie Williams. He is survived by sisters Ora Jackson, Katie Garner, Bertha (Lawrence) Sultan, Barbara Martin and Lena Marie Stallworth; and brothers Alfred (Dorothy) Kemp and Charles Anderson.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beautiful wife of 61 years, Lula Mae Kemp; daughter Patricia (Willi) Jones; four sons: Lafayette Hayes, Gregory Kemp, DeWayne Kemp, and Darrell (Kimberly) Kemp; grandson/son Emanuel (Susanne) Kemp; nineteen grand-children; 16 great-grandchildren; and honorary family members Brenda Johnson, Gerlie (Marsha) Poston, Jr. and Debbie Williams. He also leaves behind and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
