Helen Loretto Griffin

Helen L. Griffin, 93, formerly of Columbia, MO passed away Friday, September 13, 2024 in Boerne, TX. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 25 from 10am-11am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 903 Bernadette Drive, Columbia, MO 65203, with the Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. The burial will follow at 3pm in Grandview Burial Park, 11116 US-61, Hannibal, MO 63401.

Helen was born June 6, 1931 in Center, MO to Sylvester Price and Bridgett Loretto Fleming Gough, and moved to New London, MO as a child. She met the love of her life, and soul mate, Justus Dale Griffin, while they attended New London High School, and married him in 1952. They were married 65 years before he passed away in April of 2018.

Helen traveled with and supported her husband through many moves in several countries in both Europe and South America. They moved back to MO in 1975, where they started Griffin Real Estate Agency in Columbia. In 1986, she received the REALTOR® of the Year Award. Helen later worked as a Loan Officer in Columbia. In 2022, Helen moved to Boerne, TX where her youngest daughter resides.

She is survived by her children, son Vincent Mark (Anne) of Centreville, VA, daughters Ramona Ann Baumann (Paul) of Gettysburg, PA; Teresa Rhea Scott (David) of Murray, KY and Rhoda Jean Duco (Bernie) of Boerne, TX, 12 grandchildren: Christopher Hagan, Sarah Cruz, Kristen Smith (Joe), Ryan Scott (Melissa), Erin Baumann, Justin Scott (Rebecca), Lauren Austin, Zachery Griffin, Cassandra Molitor (Billy), Samantha Serrurier, Thomas Serrurier (Alex), and Elizabeth Serrurier. 19 great-grandchildren: Bradley Culebro; Ashlyn and Justus Cruz; Mikayla & Lucas Smith, Brooke and Keira Hagan, Miles Smith, Owen and Bailey Austin, Chandler Sobelman, Bradley Parton, Cassidy Archer, Luke Scott, Griffin & Theodore Serrurier, and Reece, Levi, & Nash Molitor; great-great grandchild, Rose Martinez; sister, Mary Lucille McCann; sister-in-law, Frances Jane Wilson; many nieces and nephews and a loving extended family.
