Helen “Louise” Adkins, 85, of Columbia passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at Boone Hospital. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Memorial Funeral Home with funeral services at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Louise was born on January 12, 1937 in Callaway County, MO the daughter of Graham Watts Renfro and Mary Mildred Adair Renfro. On August 3, 1956 in Atlanta, MO she was united in marriage to William Franklin Adkins.
Louise was a loving wife and devoted mother. In addition to making a home for her family, she was a cook for many years in the Columbia public school system. She enjoyed cooking at home and for her friends and was known to make special meals for special friends. She enjoyed beautiful flowers and collecting cardinal and angel figurines. She loved life and had a great laugh that was contagious.
Louise is survived by her son, Larry Adkins (Mary Priest) of Columbia and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends whom she loved like family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one infant daughter, Sharon.
