How can I never see this face again? It breaks my heart

How to describe what Gary meant to me just escapes me. We helped each other through so many tough times.  He knew me better than anyone and was always such a light in my life.  It's hard to imagine 18 years of friendship gone so fast. His smile lit up my life every time he popped up and his humor was one of a kind.  My life is better having known him. There is so much I want to say, but don't know where to start.  Then I realize I should have said all of these things to you when you were still here.  I am sorry if I let you down.  I am going to miss you.  The world is a little less bright knowing you're not in it.

I started watching Gary on YouTube when I was maybe 12-13 years old. I had just really gotten into video games and started getting into collecting. He was so charismatic about his collecting and the way he spoke about what he had bought and how happy he seemed every time he got something he really wanted, made me want to be just like him. I had a wish list on Amazon with every game he ever showed in his videos so I could track what he had so I could hope to be like him. It was over 3000 items at one point. He talked about his kids in his videos, how he was in the army and many other things that made him a role model to me. He knew this. That’s how we met. I found his Facebook one day and I told him how much he meant to me in my youth and that I missed his uploads. He was in disbelief that his videos had that much impact on a persons life. After that we talked almost every day for nearly a year. He became one of my best friends. We talked about everything. Most of the time late at night until the early morning. Gary was always there. He cared more about others than he did himself. It didn’t matter what time of day it was, he would always answer. He cared like I was his family. If I didn’t check in for a few days he would message me to make sure I was okay. Gary was one of the most loving and caring human beings I have ever met in my 19 years of living. I’ve never met someone who could have so many issues he had to deal with, who could still be an amazing father and the best friend a person could ask for. Gary pushed me to be a successful person, he always reassured me that I could do it. Whenever life hit me or I was stressed out with college he made sure I knew I could do it. He was a beautiful soul and I consider him my hero as much as I consider him my friend. 

Gary was one of my best friends. He will be missed. And always remembered of fondly. Rest in peace, dear friend. 

Gary was my person. He was the most kind, caring, loving man I’ve ever known and I will forever be grateful for the small amount we had together.

I know he was struggling with many demons before he disappeared. We met when he was a YouTuber and as a young man I watched his videos every day and he made me love video games tremendously. As a young adult I reached out to him out of the blue because I noticed he hadn’t uploaded in years. We talked every day for months.
