Evelyn Joyce Beebe was born on October 4, 1928 in Grandview, Missouri, the daughter of Frank and Martha (Matthes) Beebe. Evelyn attended grade school in Kansas City and graduated from David H. Hickman High School in 1945. She then attended Christian College (now Columbia College), graduating in 1947. Evelyn was married on June 20, 1948, to Orian Smith; they shared 67 wonderful years together.
Evelyn lived a life full of love devoted to Jesus Christ and serving her family. She faithfully cared for her family and friends, especially through her delicious baking and gifts for sewing and knitting. Evelyn cherished time spent with family and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Evelyn is survived by two sons and one daughter: Wayne (Cindy) Smith of Longmont, Colorado; Dale (Betty) Smith of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas; and Joyce (Clint) Miller of Columbia, Missouri. Evelyn was a beloved Grandma to Gretchen, Dale, Natalie, Cooper, David, Sarah, Emily Joyce, and Travis and an adoring great-grandmother to all of their children. She is also survived by her nephew, Scott (Amy) Beebe of Germantown, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, and one daughter-in-law, Deborah L. Smith.
