Elaine Hughes

Visitation will be 12-1 pm Saturday, February 11, 2017, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 pm. Burial will be held at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date.

Elaine was born March 25th 1920, in Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas Virgin Islands, to Leonard McIntosh and Ilva Louise Crooke. She married Frank Hughes on January 25, 1947, in New York City, New York and they remained married until his death in 1992. She was a loyal parishioner and volunteer at St. Ann’s Catholic Church for over 50 years, and a long-time volunteer at the VFW and the DAV.

Survivors include four sisters: Ilva Louise Gloeckler (McIntosh) of Sunnyside, New York, Doris Lindquist (McIntosh) of St. Thomas Virgin Islands, Alice Irene Thomas (McIntosh) of Traverse City, Michigan, and Sybil Pearson(McIntosh) of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada; two brothers: William McIntosh of Whitby, Ontario, Canada, and Arthur McIntosh of Columbia, Missouri; and fifteen nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Ann's Catholic Church, Browns Mills New Jersey.
