Donna May Sapp

Donna May Sapp, 61, of Columbia passed away on May, 6, 2023 at University Hospital. Services and interment in Memorial Park Cemetery were conducted privately for the family in accordance with her wishes.

Donna was born on October 31, 1961 in Columbia and trick or treating as a child always ensured that she would get extra candy from each house she visited. She was born to Jack Edward Sapp and Beverly (Eldridge) Sapp. Donna earned her LPN and worked for a time at Boone Hospital. She then went on to a career at Nordyne Manufacturing. She also trained for the U.S. Army Reserves. She had a wide varieties of interests including playing ice hockey on an otherwise all boys’ team, capturing beautiful photographs of the natural world around her and attending Pink Floyd concerts around the country and even oversees. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Donna is survived by her mother: Beverly Sapp; her sons: Nathan Doty (Brittany Pohle); Jason Abernathy; Steven Doty; grandchildren: Hailey Mae Doty; Brenden; Gavin and Devin Abernathy; one brother: Steven (Kim) Sapp; one sister: Patsy (Jim) Michaud and cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father: Jack Sapp.
