Charles "Bucky" Edward Roberts, 90, of Columbia, MO passed away on May 24, 2024. He was born in Rocheport, MO on October 21, 1933. Bucky graduated from New Franklin High School. He married Barbara H. Roberts (Hunt) on April 2, 1955. He served in the US Army from 1953 to 1955 and was a proud Veteran of the Korean War. Bucky worked a career in carpentry for Fred Coats then started his own business in 1972. He was a member of the Columbia VFW, Eagles Club, and 4H leader. Bucky had a passion for playing cards, raising livestock, hunting, gardening and taking his grandchildren to the salebarn.
He is survived by son Charles Edward Roberts Jr. (Katherine), grandchildren Stacy Rapp (Justin), John Roberts (Meghan), Stephanie Murphy (John), Ashley Branson (Ryan), Courtney Wright (Jon), Christopher Roberts, 12 great grandchildren, and sister Edna "Fern" James (Gary). He was predeceased by wife Barbara, parents Agnes and Jay Roberts, brother Everett Roberts, and son John "Fred" Roberts (Karen).
A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 12:00 pm at Memorial Park Cemetery on Tuesday, June 4th, 2024. Please come with your favorite stories about Bucky to share.
