Barbara Ott, 81, formerly of Columbia, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Arrowhead Care Center in Lake Ozark, MO. Funeral Services will be 10:00 am, Friday December 10, 2021 at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 West, Columbia with burial to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may gather at the funeral home from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Thursday December 9, 2021, and again from 9:00 - 10:00 am Friday before the funeral.
Barbara was born March 1, 1940 in Columbia, MO to Arthur William Edward and Wilma Anita Grissum Levacy. In 1958, she graduated from Hickman High School. She worked as a bookkeeper for Ellis Fischel Hospital for 20 years before retiring, then worked another 10 years for Rollins Truck Leasing. On November 16, 1991, she married William Edward Ott. They enjoyed traveling the US together and boating on the Lake. She traveled around Europe on a bus tour with her friend, living out of their suitcases. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, William Ott; daughter, Susan Levacy of Lake Ozark; son, Steven (Diana) Forbis of Columbia; sister, Dorothy Smith of West Plains; 6 grandchildren, Sunshine, Monique, & Meggan Hane, Ashley McMillan, Tracy Day, and Kentucka Harrison; 14 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Levacy; several nieces and nephews; and a loving extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Jerry Forbis; son, Scott and wife Karen Forbis; brother, William Edward Levacy; and sister, Judy Todd.
