Anna McPherson

Anna M McPherson, 88, of Columbia, MO, passed away May 6, 2015. Anna was born on October 6, 1926 in Opekiska, WV, the daughter of Virginia (Malone) and Clifford Moon, Sr. Anna married James McPherson on February 23, 1946 in Bethesda, MD; he preceded her in death in 1980.

Anna was a member of the Queen Esther Chapter #11 of the Order of the Eastern Star and was the past President of the Columbia Chapter of Professional Secretaries International. Anna was retired from the University of Missouri where she served as an administrative assistant in the Graduate school.

Survivors include 2 children, James M McPherson (Anna) and Larry E McPherson; grandchildren, Matthew B. McPherson (Beth), Sarah F. Marrero-Boyd (Adryon) and their son Kyree; Laura L. Harrison (Daniel) and their children, Katlyn, Danielle and Hunter and Marissa McPherson. She also leaves 2 siblings, Clifford Moon (Dolores) of Ocala, FL and Carol Knisely of Fairmont, West Virginia. Anna was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Virginia Moon; 3 siblings, Helen Fetty, Wesley Moon and Sandra Turek.

Visitation will be 6:30 pm-8:00 pm Friday, May 8, 2015 and Saturday 1:30 pm-2:30 pm at Memorial Funeral Home, with A Celebration of Life at 2:30pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Compassus or to the American Cancer Society.
