Walter Taylor Brown was 81 years old when he passed away in his sleep on August 18, 2024. He is survived by his two sons, Randy and Marshall, Kelly (wife to Randy), Shannon (partner to Marshall) and grandchildren Allison, Colin, Evan, Delaney and Morgan. Taylor is preceded by his parents, Stewart and Christine and his brother, Stovy.
Taylor was born and raised in Baltimore where he attended Calvert School and then Gilman School. He played football and lacrosse and was captain of the football team. He then attended Princeton where he graduated with a History major and played football and lacrosse. Taylor went on to the University of Maryland Law School where he graduated top of his class. Taylor soon married the love of his life Virginia (Jenia) Royster. They were married until her death in 2010. After getting married , Taylor joined the Army and was stationed at Fort Bragg in North Carolina. Jenia gave birth to their two sons and they lived in North Carolina for a couple of years. He then joined the law firm of Weinberg and Green in Baltimore and became a partner in the Real Estate practice.
Taylor loved history, especially studying the Civil War. He was an avid Premier League Soccer and Ravens fan. Taylor was an accomplished chess player and was interested in quantum mechanics. He loved spending time with his family.
A receiving friends for Walter will be held Wednesday, August 28, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Witzke Funeral Homes Inc., 5555 Twin Knolls Road, Columbia, MD 21045, followed by a celebration of life at 5:00 PM. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society
