Vanessa was born September 27, 1969 in Panama to two loving parents (Osmond and Marva Nugent). She had a love for dancing and was very active in ballet and Tipico (Panamanian dance).
She also loved reading, debating, and was an astute student. After graduating valedictorian of her class, she left for Costa Rica to begin her college studies. She spent almost two years studying at la Universidad Autónoma de Costa Rica and then felt a call to move to the US where she completed her college studies at the University of Maryland with an undergraduate degree in graphic design. She spent the majority of her years as a graphic artist for the National Education Association, where she remained until her passing.
Vanessa enjoyed traveling, being an advocate for families who had children with special needs and she had a love for missions work. Her true passion was to do the work of the Lord.
She married Michael Moran on August 4, 2000 and in 2003 they had a son, Miguel. As a mother, she was devoted to raising her son up in the ways of the Lord.
She will be greatly missed by her family and especially her son Miguel who adores her with all his heart.
Vanessa is survived by her mother (Mrs. Marva Nugent, two brothers (Victor Nugent (wife-Connie) Dino Nugent, one sister -Deanna Nugent, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Family will receive friends at Witzke Funeral Homes, Inc., 5555 Twin Knolls Rd., Columbia, MD 21045 on Friday, February 16, 2024 from 10am to 12pm, where a funeral service will begin at 12pm. Interment will follow at Columbia Memorial Park, 12005 Clarksville Pike, MD 21029 at 1:30pm.
