I cannot believe that it has been nearly a year since the loss of my brother Laurie. A doting husband to you Jo and loving father to Jessica & Nicole.

We have just now heard about Laurie. Thank you for letting us know. I worked with Laurie starting in 1989 at Engineering Research Associates. I was amazed at his breath of knowledge and new computing concepts. With his guidance, we realized new innovative products that impacted the world in ways we cannot discuss today. His enthusiasm, good humor and patience was always appreciated by everyone. Laurie was highly regarded.

Thank you for letting me know your sad news.  I lost my mum on 8th October 11 and am still getting over it.

To think we have been friends since we were 5 years old meeting at Auntie Ivy's and uncle Micks wedding - another life time ago.

You are lucky you have your girls to help you through this time.

Jo and girls - it must have been a very hard year for you, and coming around to the anniversary of Laurie's death will be particularly difficult for you. Laurie, your premeture passing is a shock to us all and at the moment we cannot comprehend the loss that is with us.
In my quieter moments, I remember.
You, my big brother although 3 years younger and 6ft something and me being 5ft nothing.
You, the quiet studious sensible one and me, well! a bit scatty.
I remember though, when we were youngsters, the scattiness was there with you also.
Remember Laurie, when we used to go on holidays with Graham, our cousin, who was crippled with Muscular Dystrophy, our sister and me.
We would take it in turns to push Grahams' wheelchair and I remember how you  ran precariously down the steep slopes of Ventnor Isle of White, Graham screeching with glee at the excitement.
At night we would go to bed and wait for the grownups to retire, then, we would gather together in one bedroom, erect a makeshift tent out of blankets, sit giggle and devour the goodies that we had hoarded during the day. We felt quite sick afterwards, but it was great fun.
Those memories and many more are in my heart and I wish that wherever you might be, that you are at peace and maybe with Graham, mum & dad and that the scattiness' is still there also.

We were so sorry to learn of Laurie's untimely death on our return home from holiday.  Although we've not been in touch for several years, we have many fond memories from our times together both in Columbia, Maryland and back home in Cheltenham, England. Laurie are dear friend for 42 years from the days of Hatfield, you will remain forever in our hearts our mind our thoughts. You never let us down over the years, your friendship strong a bond never better, the link will always remain. Total shock.  Worked with Laurie for 14 years.  Will miss his humor.

I was saddened and shocked to hear of the sudden death of my friend of 40 years or so. I remember so many good things about him, particularly the many many long conversations we had most lunch times trying to understand management decisions or just 'chewing the fat'. Whenever we met up after he went to work in America we could pick up wherever we left off as if it were yesterday rather than the 12 months or more that it really was. Our family send their condolences to Jo, Jessica and Nicole - Gwyneth and I look forward to meeting you all in March.

Laurie and I worked together for many years.  He was one of my section managers for several years, and always had a strong concern for his employees.  He was always available to discuss the problem of the day, and always had great insights.  I relied upon him for technical advice, and we had many discussions about organizational issues (about which we frequently disagreed--but that's OK).

Laurie was a great sounding board, and a solid technical resource.  Despite the fact that I have moved on from AST, I will miss him.  He was a friend and a
great employee.   I am so very sorry to hear of his passing.
