Karla Louise Anderson

Karla Louise Anderson, age 70, 64-year resident of Avon Lake, Ohio and most recently Ellicott City, Maryland passed away peacefully March 24, 2024. She was born November 29, 1953, to parents Norman Anderson and Gwendolyn (nee Beard) Anderson.

Karla proudly grew up on Electric Boulevard with her twin sister Karen, brother Norman (Bucky), and surrounded by aunts, uncles, cousins and lifelong neighborhood friends like best friend Debbie (nee Parsons) Bourque. She was member of the Girl Scouts Organization from 1st grade until she graduated from Avon Lake High School class of 1972.

After graduation she attended St. Joseph’s School of Practical Nursing and graduated with a nursing license in 1973. She spent the next 44 years working at Fairview General Hospital in the Kemper Coronary Unit. Throughout those decades she made many friends and selflessly served and cared for thousands of individuals.

Karla, also lovingly known as Gramma Kitty, will be remembered for her amazing baked goods, sharp memory, excellent handwriting, love of online shopping, regularly giving small gifts to her grandkids, love of dogs and cats, and love of music (especially classic rock).

Karla is survived by her daughter Kristin Nightingale (Aidan), and son Jordan Mansour (Megan); loving grandmother to Tate (17), Gwen (15), Grant (13), Norah (11), and Lennon (8); sister Karen Pfeiffer, and brother Buck Anderson (Marley). She is also survived by niece Alison Bozek, and nephews Casey Anderson, Chris Pfeiffer and Jerry Pfeiffer (Kristy).

Family will receive friends for a celebration of Karla’s life on Saturday, July 27, 2024 from 12:00pm - 3:00pm at the Towne Centre Community Clubhouse, 200 Community Drive, Avon Lake, Ohio 44012. A tribute to Karla will start at 1:00pm, at which time friends and family will share their memories of Karla.
