Yesterday was the one-year anniversary of Joyce's passing.  It was only fitting that I bring flowers to her grave, and that's exactly what I did.  Joyce Hainley Kirk, may you rest in peace.  So many wonderful memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life.

This was Joyce taken in the late 1980s.  A photo which she loved and gave to me.  The photo was taken while she was on an APL work trip.  I wanted to share with everyone here as I know this was one of her favorite photos too.  She was as very special lady.

Joyce Hainley was how I knew here when we met working together at APL.  We spent four years together with so many great memories.  We traveled all over, Ocean City, Poconos, Deep Creek Lake just to name a few places.  It was Joyce who brought back my love for the Ocean and today I am still so grateful for our time together.  We spent so many wonderful weekends together in Ocean City.   Because of the age difference we never married, I was 39 when we met, and she was 54.  I did get to meet here late husband, Ed Kirk in 2008 at a Hubcap's dance.  I knew right away Ed was a great guy!  

Joyce and I kept in touch over the past 34 years as we remained very close friends.  Now that she is gone from this world, it breaks my heart that I can't call her anymore to catch up or have dinner.  Joyce was one of the kindest people I have ever known.  I will miss her so much, but I have those wonderful memories from 1989-1993.  Rest in peace Joycie, I will always love you and the memories we made together.

I met Joyce 10 years ago at the Fitness Center. There were a group of us that had a corner of the room, and I became friends with her and Pat immediately. Whoever got there first would set up for each other. We loved, we cried and became great friends. We use to go to lunch, met at Joyce’s house and talked politics for hours. We cried when I left Ellicott City and moved to Virginia. We did stay in touch until her passing. Joyce was a great friend, no not a friend, she was my second Mother! Joyce helped me so much after my husband passed. I will never forget all she did for me. I’m crying now knowing that I lost a great person/friend. I know Joyce is no longer suffering and she is now at peace! I will keep Joyce and her family in my thoughts and prayers. Until we meet again, I love you Joyce. 🥰

What a delightful couple to share a few years of friendship with, their memory will linger. RIP Joyce

We are saddened to hear of Joyce's passing. We'll always remember her sweet and gentle ways. And the many nice conversations at parties or gatherings. May she rest in eternal peace. Our condolences to the family. 

Joyce was, indeed, the sweetest person I've ever known. Everyone loved Joyce.  I am so very sorry to learn of her passing.  I have many fond memories of the two of us tap dancing with the Golden Girls.  We had so many laughs together.  She is greatly missed.

I will miss my friend as I called her Joycie.  I will remember our good times and conversations.  She was a kind, gentle and loving friend.  We laughed together so many times about life and our aches and pains.  She was very special.  I will look up in the sky at darkness and see her star shining bright. I met Joyce 7 years ago @ the Ellicott City 50+ Fitness Center.  She immediately became one  of my all-time favorite class goers & a true friend.  I am a better person for having known her & will
miss her dearly. This picture was taken on her birthday in 2019 in the “Power Birthday Tiara.”   May she rest in peace. ❤️

I’m so sorry to learn Joyce passed. I’m so glad I got to know her. We met at the Ellicott City 50+ Center and I instantly liked her.  She was always so sweet and had a positive outlook on life. She loved her chocolate and she loved going to Rita’s.  I remember when she had PT a few years ago, she told us how cute her therapist was. She had a zest for life and a great sense of humor. I will miss her.  Rest in peace, Joyce! ❤️
