Janice Schmidt

Jan was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the fourth of four children of Harry and Catherine Schwarz, now deceased. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Schmidt, and her three sisters, Esther Wilkes, Joan Muller, and Lois Andersen.

She is survived by her two children, Kerri Mozinski and Kim West; son-in-laws Todd Mozinski and Royce West; and two grandchildren, Ben West and Brooke West.

Jan will be fondly remembered for her love of the beach, parades (especially The Mummers!), crafting, the theater, Philly soft pretzels, fruit, ice cream, and most importantly…family.

Services will be held this Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Bethel Baptist Church at 11am. The family will receive friends and family at the church from 10-11am. There will be a luncheon to follow in the church fellowship hall. Bethel Baptist Church, 4261 Bethel Overlook. Ellicott City, MD 21043. Burial at Arlington national Cemetery will take place at a later date.
