Emma Samuels Vaughan

Emma Eleanor Samuels Vaughan, born May 22, 1933, in Woodford Va. She was the fifth of five children born to William S. Samuels and Eleanor Rollins Samuels of Caroline County, Virginia. She was the beloved wife of the late Godfrey A. Vaughan, whom she married December of 1974.

Emma graduated from Union High School in Caroline County class of 1950. She was also a Graduate of Virginia State College, Petersburg, Virginia. Upon graduating Emma was employed at the Library of Congress in Washington D.C. as a Special Assistant to the Associate Librarian for Reference Services. Working there for thirty plus years, until her retirement in March of 1988.

Emma loved going on cruises with her husband Godfrey. She enjoyed reading, slot machines, baseball, and football. Her favorite sports teams were the Baltimore Orioles and Baltimore Ravens.

A visitation will occur Wednesday, September 21, 2022 from 10 to 11am, at Witzke Funeral Homes, Inc, 5555 Twin Knolls Road, Columbia, MD 21045, where a funeral service will begin at 11am. A committal service will follow at Columbia Memorial Park, 12005 Clarksville Pike, Clarksville, MD 21029.
